There was thread a while back that I can't seem to locate this morning about building boats for a living. I read this moring that Barry Carroll, Carroll Marine is getting out of the business, selling his shop to a powerboat company. Said the market, which is extremely cyclic just was not there right now. He had been in the business for 19 years building VERY high end racing sailboats. Supplemented the boat business recently by making fiberglass parts for the powerboat folks while he finished up the last few orders.
Anyway, I simply note this for the folks who had mentioned it. My sailboat building business has gotten more orders of late for carbon fiber airplane parts, there seems to be a large number of hobbyist in these parts.
