So I stripped the whole deck down, painted the dock box, made a console, set it up on hinges. Got the side rails fabricated. Made some bamboo panels (bought foam sections, laminated to some fiberglass bath sheet, cut out sections).

3/8" Meranti sheet from BBC

Pre-cut and drilled all the holes for filling & coating

Quick trip to Crystal River for scalloping. Put up the bimini temporarily, need to sew up a new top and get some mounts for the new rails

King high tides plus a couple days of 20kt E wind is still a problem!

But normal high tides in low-rider mode we go right through

Tank came out looking good, and a great value

(Mostly) finished product. I have some birdsall mounts for a folding back-rest, plus the Bimini to do

Pontoon really is an awesome party barge. I can pile people on it, go camping, overnights on tents. And now with a major power upgrade, we can actually get places and waterski. Upgraded to a new F70 (I may have gotten the last one in stock in FL). It runs about 26 light, and plenty of grunt to pull people up on water toys. The wake is really weird though, you kinda drop ino a hole on the way across and there is barely any wake.

Prop has to be more than twice the swept area of the old DF30, creates a more pleasant ride. Boat and non-boat people alike now say its "really smooth".

Painted the inside of the side boards a yellow/green, and also added a ski tripod out back.

Son helped by installing the prop
