Frames pre-coated with neat epoxy on edges, filleted and taped in. Clamping board installed. Next will be a support for the rear deck at the clamping board. Will scribe off frame E shown and transfer this to the clamping board at appropriate height.

Image

I dropped the clamping board down a bit. too many years doing custom trim and furniture. It's called a 'reveal' I I just can't help but put one in wherever two pieces of wood are stacked. Old habits die hard, I guess

Thanks Doc Dyer for moving that pic for me, I don't quite know what I did, but it worked tonight.

Rob Eades, I am thinking about a 4 hp, but depends on how 57 lbs sits on the transom. Might have to back it down, but if I have to go all the way down to 2.5 hp, I'll think hard about the elec. trolling motor again. Or maybe the ob on the transom and a trolling up on the from deck, weight should offset each other?

One of the best purchases I ever made was a little used Mercury/Tohatsu 3.3 two stroke. Its simple as can be,starts fisrt pull and weighs in at 29lbs.A trolling moter would also make sense since a displacement hull moves so easily. This is starting to look like a budget in-shore fishing boat!

If the Torqueedo motors weren't so pricey the small one would probably be a good match.
If you go with a regular trolling motor, this link may be of interest:

Mock up of rear deck frame. I need to come up with something to allow me to seal off the motor mount access area so water doesn't fill the area from frame E to transom.

Image

Budget inshore, near shore, concrete ships, 1st and 4th islands, grass flats, owls creek, hot ditch, and all rivers coming into the chesapeake bay.

Gk, yeah I like the torqueedos, but WOW 8O , are they pricey! I'll check out the propellors site tonight.

No more work on boat 'til Monday or Tuesday, gotta go make a living this weekend.

A guy named Stefan built one of these a couple years back at one time there were videos of the boat online.I wonder if they are still out there? I had no luck finding them.

This looks like a great candidate to build with Ultraply. Its a good quality underlayment made with marine glue. Its $20 a sheet at Lowe's

Rob, I finally found a post with that video link, but the site the video was posted on is gone now. :(

Frazoo, I noticed the prop co. has a dealer in Moultrie, right up the road from me. Next time I go that way, I'll see if they have any in stock that I can take a look at. I'm curious enough that I'd buy one if the price compares favorably with the factory props. With a 55 lb motor and a group 24 battery in my D15, I can go about 6 miles on a charge. With the narrower beam and rocker bottom, the honker might get 8 miles with that power setup. A different prop might get it close to 10 miles on a charge. 8)

Frame in and dry, support batten removed

rear deck rough cut oversized, once final cut, you will see more camber at the transom/clamping board.

Access hole is 4-1/2 X 8-1/4.
