Who lives in the Seattle WA area. What is it really like rain wise. I'm considering a transfer there. Am excited about boating/fishing, but wonder just how wet it really is. Any comments appreciated.
Thanks,

We are in a drought now, so it's pretty nice. A few years back we had a stretch where it rained for over 90 consecutive days. Thats not counting the cloudy days before and after the 90+ rainy days. I don't mind the rain as much as the relentless cloudy, dark, dreary late fall/winter/spring. Other than that the weather is great.

housing costs
The median priced home in Snohomish County, north of Seattle, is around 230k. In King County (Seattle), your looking at closer to 300k. My Sister in law just bought a 50 year old 3 bdrm, 1 bath, one car garage for 192k. I bought my 100 year old 3 bd, 2 bath for 210k last November. You won't find a decent starter home or condo within 50 miles of Seattle proper for less than 175k. Hope this helps.
If you're from California or NY - it rains here constantly, pretty much all the time - you'd hate it. If you're from anywhere else, it rains but not as much as you'd be led to believe. They say that if Seattle didn't have the roof over the Mariners Stadium they would have fewer rained out games than the Yankees. One bad thing, it seems to rain all June and the damn wind blows hard and from the South East all morning and into the afternoon. Where I live that means you get your butt kicked for most of the day in the early summer.
