Plywood for V10 with wood finishing surface

Post by Bertrand »

Dear All,
I plan to build a V10. I must say that I am very excited by this project, build a boat, even a small one is one thing that I could not imagine before I know the stitch and glue technique.
At the moment I´m hesitating between the differents kind of Plywood I must use for the building of V10. If I well understood the differents messages the more easy choice (for bending) is the Okoume (marine or not but at least exterior one).
I would like to make my V10 with a wood surface finishing (not to paint it).
What is the better choice of plywood, not too hard to bend and with an excellent surface finishing ?
Thanks in advance of your advises .
Bertrand

Okoume or meranti bend well and finish bright nicely. Meranti is a bit cheaper than fir in this neck of the woods.
