Hi Ya'll,
I havent posted on here in a long while but ive been reading lots on here and learned a ton.
Thanks to all of yous for sharing so much info and knowledge.
I bought FL11 plans back in 04 and never built it :(
I downloaded the free CC14 plans and also picked up the NC16 plans with the epoxy kit.
So.. I started building a CC14 for SWMBO's birthday couple of weeks ago (good excuse to build a boat heh!) and its almost done.

Well done enough to splash this weekend. Here are some pics of the build I'll add more pics and details later

I dry fit them first so I could trim the bow ends to a point.

handles for easy lugging

Seat support. I not crazy about the gaps there on either side. Has any one filled those in? or is it just me?

Breasthook installed.

tape job is a little rough under there, I was doing it blindly

This boat was silly simple to assemble. I cant wait to build another and Im not even done with this one yet.
I must have the BBV :help:

Looks good Dave. :)

Looking forward to the splash pictures, even if it is a pre-finish unofficial splash. I've been using my boat for years, and still haven't had the official *totally painted* splash.

Nice job! I really like your breasthooks, too... Usually I'm not a fan, but that is downright well thought out! Makes me wonder why I didn't think that up!

Thank you for the compliments. It's greatly appreciated :D

@ tolobmr Not a fan of breasthooks or just canoes in general? :D

I used some scraps of marine mohoghany ply I had left over from a job I did for the breasthooks.
The rest of the hull is just some 1/4" luan I had left over too.

We tested in the bay today floated just fine (not that I had any doubt)
Just wasn't a good canoe day with a 10-15 mph wind and a little chop
I used a kayak paddle and it seemed a little awkward so I traded it in for a single paddle.
We'll try again tommorrow and I'll put wifey in it. Supposed to be less breezy in the am.
I'll post some pics.

Btw..does anyone have some good plans for a canoe paddle?
I want to wittle one out of cedar so it's nice and light.

Makes it look like your Jeep is wearing a fedora.

Looks good, This design is just so simple to put together and has very nice lines. I know I am enjoying mine.
