HM19 gas tank

Post by mikestl »

Hi all,

I'm just about to the stage where I need to install the gas tank. What brands/models have you used?

Does anyone know if a plastic fuel tank would work?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike:
I got my metal tank from West Marine..... 18 gal,and I plan on having a 6 gal. plastic "spare" in "storage seat" which will be built along the fore side of Frame F.... The seat will hold spare gas tank on port side, life preservers in mid section, and large igloo ice chest to starboard.... Our roll-over party is scheduled for two weeks from now...
Have fun on you HM..

What ever you do, if you plan on running a 4 stroke, don't over do it. The C16 takes 60 gallons but I couldn't use that all up in a day ever! We spent a whole week in the keys and never refueled.

I think 45 gallons for the C19 with a four stroke would be adequate but the reserve is nice. This is not a critique but a suggestion for those deciding on fuel capacity with 4 strokes and very light stitch and glue boats.
