OD16 Paint pics

Post by Evildwarf »

Got some painting done thought I'd let someone see the results so far. It still has two more coats of the epoxy paint, And three clear coats.I'd estimate about 10 hrs and another five hrs to frame it up to roll.I have a delema. I was going to speckle paint the inside, but with only two coats of this stuff I'm starting to reconcider? On one hand I think it would add depth and contrast for the parts to stand out but it's turning out to be better faired and filled than I expected, really. I would like some thoughts on this.Anyway, still some building left to do, such as the console is getting two tackle boxes.Hope the pics inspirs or what ever we are surposed to be doing on this website. All I know is that it's fun :D

EvilD, It is looking awesome. I agree from the pictures it seems to be faired very well. I would not do the speckle paint, but instead would use some non-skid powder in the paint. It just seems to look better finished and more classy that way.

The last picture with the hatch open has a round hatch inside, what is that??

GREAT JOB

One more question guys,

Does anyone think a swing backrest would get in the way, or should I leave it as is?I've never owned or used one like that! This thing is getting a T top also, of my design and construction. It's going to be awesome. That is if I don't go broke first!.Evild
