Test Post -- But real questions GV15

Jacques -- these are real questions about the GV15.

And we can test the forum.

If you remember, I want to extend the casting deck back to Frame 2. This design would make what is now seat 1 part of a long casting deck. Here are my questions about that:

1) The cockpit sole is 1/2 in ply and the casting deck is 3/8 play. Since I am making the casting deck longer , should I increase it to 1/2 in ply?

2) Is the cockpit sole structural and does it need to be under the extended casting deck? (If not, I can use the sole plywood for the casting deck if it needs to be increased to 1/2 in)

3) Would rasing the casting deck cause a design issue? Right now it is about 7 inches below the top deck -- what if it was about 2 inches below the top deck?

(I know you don´t like changes to your plans -- I´m just trying to understand what is changable and what should not be tampered with...

>1) The cockpit sole is 1/2 in ply and the >casting deck is 3/8 play. Since I am making >the casting deck longer , should I increase it >to 1/2 in ply?

Switch: part of the sole under casting deck = 3/8.
You could even build the hidden sole from 1/4", what counts is the FG seam all around.

2) Is the cockpit sole structural and does it need to be under the extended casting deck? (If not, I can use the sole plywood for the casting deck if it needs to be increased to 1/2 in)

See above.

3) Would rasing the casting deck cause a design issue? Right now it is about 7 inches below the top deck -- what if it was about 2 inches below the top deck?

No problem to raise it.

(I know you don´t like changes to your plans -- I´m just trying to understand what is changable and what should not be tampered with...

[ This message was edited by: jacquesmm on 20-08-2002 15:45 ]

[ This message was edited by: jacquesmm on 20-08-2002 15:45 ]

SKU is GV15, FL11, C19 etc. We may change to "boat type".
Thanks for the feedback: that is why we are testing.

Where did JoJo get the Baghead? I love it. Reminds me of New Orleans Saints Fans.

Skydad, if you chose "Your Account" from the left column menu, and Edit your information, you will find a box for Avatar and a "List" link next to it.

CLicking on the List will show you several you can choose from. Find the ohne you like, remember the number, and then pick it from the prior screen.

RW, in moments of crystal clarity (or insanity), have you ever wondered about designing and building a S+G experimental home-built airplane? Even if it´s remote controlled...maybe 1/2 size...maybe amphibious... ... Maybe a S+G skeleton with fabric covering...

In general, they are more advanced, use vacuum bagging, thermo cure etc. but many techniques are common.
