Dustin, I´m sure you didn´t mean to, but you posted this message twice. I deleted the other one. What´s wrong with the marine plywood Jacques has available? Go to BoatPlans-Online.com and check it out.

The only marine plywood I´ve seen at Home Depot here on FL´s West Coast is Plum Creek Marine Plywood in 1/2 & 3/4 - so I quess it´s fir. It is marked marine. If you need 1/2 & 3/4 - that sounds like the solution.

Dustin; Jacques has the best prices so far on the good stuff, Okoume and Meranti. For Plum Creek or XL try Dixie Plywood, Tampa, 813-248-4107. Also, Flaherty Marine, Inc. 761 Anclote Rd., Tarpon Springs, 813-934-9394.

XL should be coming to our store (WorldPanle exactly) within a few weeks.
After a few years (12) of experience with boat building plywood, I prefer XL because the quality is consistent. XL is always fir, Marine Tech may or may not be fir.

Do you prefer XL to Meranti or Okume?

Then compare prices and decide if it is worth it.
For small boats like a D4, Fl11 etc. one can also use Lauan but not for larger hulls or planing powerboats.
