Just thought I'd post an updated photo. The hull is mostly faired and sanded. Spray rails are attached. I'm not sure how to get the photo to show in this post, so the link is below.
Regarding fairing, to save trouble, I ran the cloth up the sides a few extra inches, to where I knew it would be under the spray rail. I thought this would save lots of trouble and time by not having to do much blending. It was a real time saver! I see that some people coat the entire boat in fairing compound (I'm referring to up the sides). I'm a little unclear as to why this is necessary. The hull is smooth, and I need to fair a few dings, but not enough to coat the whole thing. Any thoughts or criticisms of my technique?
Thanks.

redfishla,
Missed the question the first time, my answer would be that the high gloss paints show every LITTLE ding on the boat. Although I'm happy with my rig it could have been better if I would have faired every inch of the outside.
bottom line is if your happy with it that's all that matters, if anyone dosen't like mine I won't have to take them fishing. haaaaaa
