Yes, the mast and mainsail will work on a Janus. However you may find you will want a bigger jib, which are easy to buy used from a small monohull cruiser. The other thing is that the gooseneck will be low on a beach cat rig, so you will need to make the deep mast beam (which I can send you if you buy plans). But you can see the idea for it on the Plan Updates pages of my website. The Polish Janus owner who made a couple of great videos fitted such a deep mastbeam

Oops, I missed the mention of the Janus. No need to split the thread.
MY first transatlantic crossing was done with a salvaged rig and used recut sails. Racers change sails almost every season and many sailmakers recut them for a small fee.
Same thing for the boom: with pop rivets I moved the boom up 12" and that's was it.
