PX14 plywood butt joint

Post by gonandkarl »

Hi

On the plan it suggests one should butt join 2 sheets of plywood with a piece of plywood glued to it.
My qestion is: Can I butt join the 2 sheets with biax glassfibre tape on one side and one millimetre of epoxy/woodflour paste between the sheets or should the tape be on both sides ?
It worked well for my AD14 side panels where I taped both sides.

Greetings from Karl ( Austria )

It's Richard's design but I think you can. He does not use the butt joints as reinforcements like I sometimes do in my small boats.
