Hello,
I have a 1986 25' steiger craft that I'm restoring. The pilot house is extremely small and I would like to extend it 3'-4' while I'm replacing the floors.
Can anyone offer advice on how to do this? I was planning on cutting it near the back, pulling it back 4', and then building a Melanine form to fill the gaps.
I'm hoping the width isn't wider 4' back. If so, I would need to split the pilot house in both directions to make it both wider and longer.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pilot house extension

Mulltr66, would you take pictures of the current pilot house and add those to the Forum. This will greatly assist the builders in understanding what you have and where you are going with your rebuild. Jeff

There's a few ways to do it. If you have a photo hosting account somewhere, Photobucket, Picassa etc. You can copy and paste the URL to the image. Click the 'Img' button above and then paste the URL between the tags.mulltr66 wrote:Can someone tell me how to upload a picture to the forum?
The Steiger is a nice looking boat. Wouldn't a full canvas enclosure be nicer? Likely cheaper, will look better and still give you that nice wide open aft deck if you want it. Just my 2 cents worth.

The quickest way is to use http://imgur.com if you drag the image onto the starting page there, it will automatically upload, and take you to where the image is posted, where there is a dropdown menu on the image that will even generate the bbcode for you:
