The easiest things.....

Questions about boat repairs with our resins and fiberglass: hull patches, transoms and stringers, foam, rot etc.

The easiest things.....

Post by bigtalljv »

So it was time to tackle the one easy thing I neglected when I did the rebuild, cup holders. I just need two but it's gone sideways. I can't find a cup holder the right size to fit the big insulated bottles and coffe cups I use. Grrr. So I'll just make some.

Fist thought was to turn them out do some stock but too expensive. A block of Delrin that size will cost more than I want to spend. So how about a quick mold and some fiberglass? That seems the route I'll go.

I just need a simple two step cup holder. Can I get two out of a foam and packing tape mold? I don't want to go too fancy or spend too much. Can I use craft store styrofoam? also I don't have a vacuum or anything so it's just gravity. Not perfect but should work?

Thanks
Jason

Not sure if these are big enough, but this is what I put in my GV15. They're plenty big for my needs.

Thanks but those are essentially the ones I got already. Same thing labeled by everyone. I need 3.60" and 2.95" for the two levels.

The stainless ones are almost big enough but hard to remove material from internally.
