Wow, Dan didn't know the move was so imminent. Enjoy Texas!!! When do you start down with the boat? Tom
Moving the boat.
Moving to Texas is at least a year away. House not even bid, yet. Waiting on bid.
I got the invoice to move the boat. Does not include the two cranes. $6570...ouch, budget miss. But I think the guy is a good mover, so not messing around..
If you go through UShip.net maybe, we see you and your boat on an episode of Shipping Wars!! Could save you a ton of money and you get a free video of the moving!
On there the shipper hires and pays for the cranes.
He is going 12 miles from my house to the Mississippi.
I only have four weeks to paint the bottom, get in the water, and pull out for freeze up. Pull out last day is October 24. There really is no time to mess around. Just the three white oak beams cost $1650 and he is charging me only $700 for them because he doesn't usually need them super wide and will likely cut them or one of them down.
If he paid for the cranes; he'd mark them up, so that is not much help. The crane guy talked about picking the boat up 60 feet in the air, but there is a tree kind of in the way. I left the two of them for awhile and came back and they had decided it was better to do things with two cranes for safety to my boat. I'm probably looki g at 3k for cranes as well.
