A little worried these last few days that my boat is going to come in way overweight on the build...

Let's say, theoretically that it is 1000# heavy. Ppi is going to be around 700#. So, boat is 1.5" low. As long as my engines are high enough; not the end of the world, right?

Poorer speeds and poorer fuel economy. Running at displacement weight always.

Other issues?

Woods would know best, but my guess the only issue will be to your pride... I was disappointed in how heavy my boat ended up, but we have fun with it and that's all that matters, ;) doesn't bother me anymore

Well get her weighed after you finish her and I will run her through my calculators, so you will know for sure. No use speculating now. You have twin 90's for a total of 180HP so you neve r know. Be aware PPI is set by the designer at DWL and the weight at DWL. So if you go up in weight the PPI will go down the amount the designer specified. This because at this point the boat widens out and can support more weight.

I do understand ppi changes a bit as we sink, but these are canoe hulls with axe bows, so penalty is not as kind as a hull with more flare. There is not much I can do now. I can start cutting circles of plywood benches and such, but there is not much room to lighten her up anymore. I think bottom paint is going up 5" above dwl...

Lotsa sanding today. Tomorrow I may be able to prime the aft beam locker, cabin bottom, and entrance. Still some fairing compound to get on early morning.

Why not float the boat to find WL then bottom paint it?

Costs like 3500 to get to the marina. $350-400 to drop it in..each time.. :(

The initial crane work should be a one n done, but the marina business is costly to lift in and to lift
Out may be more like $500
