Same thing on my SK14, I ordered some more foam to fill in completely beneath the sole. I like how solid it makes it feel and you will too. You're going good, keep up with the pics How do you intend to power her? I put a trolling motor on the nose with a detachable mount.

Tohatsu 9.9 at minimum....
Re: Sk 14 SSI Ga
Wow, I think you will fly! I've been looking at the new Tohatsu 5hp propane model. I tend to let engines sit and then have fuel problems. I can't find any testimony on the new models yet online though. No rush.

Re: Sk 14 SSI Ga
I added more foam today. Got it pretty full. It should float. The white wire is for running lights, and the black is the transducer cable . I wanted to run the wiring under the floor.
Re: Sk 14 SSI Ga
Nice work Edd!! She will certainly float!! Happy holidays, Jeff
Re: Sk 14 SSI Ga
Looks familiar. She'll be tight as a drum with the sole on and float like a bobber. I didn't run wire underneath the sole but kinda wish I had.

Re: Sk 14 SSI Ga
did you happen to weigh the hull before and after foam?
Re: Sk 14 SSI Ga
Each 2 gallon kit is about 16 lbs. I guess he has 20 lbs of foam in there.
3 or 4 times what is needed for full buoyancy but the hull will be very strong and stiff.

Re: Sk 14 SSI Ga
Its a bit extra foam than what's needed, I think it should be about 20-30lbs of foam.
Re: Sk 14 SSI Ga
Do any of you guys who have set up a trailer for the sk14 recall how far apart you spaced the bunks? I got mine set at 2ft in the rear and about 2ft 6in in the front. I also raised the front 2 1/2 in. I plan on adding something else to support the bow. The weather has slowed my progress a little.
