Here's my last well. Foam on 3 sides with 4mm ply covering it. If I put ice in it half way up, it will last more then a day. The corners were rounded with glass I made by covering a 4" pvc pipe with wax paper.

Any foam with beads. The spaces between beads can saturate from our dear friend water.

I suppose that's true, but if they are vertical panels above the sole it seems very unlikely to me. I have pool toys that have Styrofoam tubes as floats, they sat in the pool for weeks at a time without taking on water.

It's done pretty well over the years. The next one will have more rounded ends.

Did mine the same way except I used plastic sheeting instead of wax paper to mold the glass inserts for the corners around a pvc pipe.

The one I'll be starting on soon I plan on using a 12" concrete form to make the fiberglass rounds. I'll cut the circle in half to make the ends.

So I can make my cooler with foam and glass but wells need to be made of thin sheets of plywood with 12" chunks of concrete to form the corners, got it. Then glass inside and out. You guys use PVC pipe and ball valves for the plumping too or do I need learning on that? I was thinking 3/4" for anything going into or going back to and 1" overflow. Good? It all worked good in the "hold my beer" tests and 800 gph pump and 10" and 24" rise.

Try to remember I recycle and have LIMITED funds! :)

I know you are joking, but the only thing I use pvc for in a boat is chase tubes. And a 1" overflow is not enough if you plan on using 800gpm pumps. I use 1 1/8" if memory serves, and my 500gpm pump can over power it at full blast so I gate it back a bit.
