LM18 low sheer round chine
Would a
Magic Tilt 2002 18 foot trailer work?
It's 17 feet 7 inches from coupler to back of trailer frame (not the bunks).

Re: Trailer for a LM18
I don't see why not. You can move the coupler forward and adjust the bunks a bit too. You want the bunks to reach all the way to the transom for support, but it looks like you'd get that with only a bit of adjustment.

Re: Trailer for a LM18
The only problem I see is the width. Other than that it should work

Trying to find a trailer for a LM 18
Magic Tilt 2002 18 foot trailer will it work?
It has Fl reg. and bill of sale, both in his name.
It's 17 feet 7 inches from coupler to back of trailer frame (not the bunks).
distance between fenders 64" width to fenders 78"

Re: Trailer for a LM18
The idea is for the transom to be supported by the bunks. If the bow roller can move forward enough for the transom to be over the bunks, I'd say its big enough.
That being said, I don't think this one will be long enough.

Re: Trailer for a LM18
If I were to use 2x6's as bunks, I could hang the bunks farther over the end of the trailer frame..?
I just never have had a trailerless boat, other then my big sailboats, I did have a 30' sailboat on a trailer, but she was towed to the races.
So, 18' would/could be too short, 20' trailer from the coupler to the end of the trailer frame would be right?

Re: Trailer for a LM18
By coupling you mean the part that connects to the ball on the hitch right? If that is the case there is not much room for the winch and bow stop. The LM 18 LS how long is it really going to be 17.5', 17' ? Still not a lot of room. The bunks can stick out behind the trailer some but where will the center of gravity be in relationship to the trailer axle? With that trailer the axle is pretty far back so you "could" move the boat back a little with extended bunks but would you want or need to?
Re: Trailer for a LM18
Don't know... That's why I'm asking for help on this.
Re: Trailer for a LM18
Ok. How far away from the tow vehicle do you want the bow stop, 2 feet? That brings that trailer down to 15 feet 7 inches to the back of the frame. Your bow will go over the bow stop let's say 6". Your boat is 17.6' long, so from bow stop to transom is 17'. So the bunks would need to be extended past that trailer's frame 1 foot and 5 inches to support the LM18 LS. Only missing number is the center of gravity of the boat. I have been told that it is normally 41 to 44% from the transom forward. That would be about 6 feet from the transom. So the axle would need to be less than 6 feet from the transom. Does that help?
