Hi,
I have a few questions regarding the Skoota 24.
1. Do the drawings include the trailer design to carry the folded cat.
2. How wide is the cat when folded on the trailer.
3. How deep must the water be to get the boat of the trailer?
Thanks

These are all questions for the designer.

You can email him at

I really like the design.

The width is narrow enough for trailering. I would guess you could build the trailer to pick the boat off the beach, but a bit of water would avoid scratching the hulls as they fold. But check with Richard.

Btw, I like the 24 without the aft cabin. And ask Richard for alternative motor options. I think he had a few ideas he was throwing around like duals a/o even mounting them on the hulls?

Thanks,
I looked at the trailer option again. You would need the deeper water to get her on the trailer. I looked at a lift mechanism using trailer winches. I'll mail Richard.

BTW, I found your build a whilst ago and read the whole thing. Very impressive composite work. I use vacuum bagging and infusion on a very small scale for drone wings and fuses. The scale you work on is a whole different ball park. I would imagine the consumables around the bagging process is costing like hell.

Thanks for the reply.

The epoxy losses are rather stunning.

The bleeder plastic is reusable for a few cycles and I am on the 2nd roll of vac film. I get a couple pulls on the bag before using it for tablecloth.

Peelply use is heavy.

Breather - I am on the 2nd roll now.

Yes. Uses a lot of materials. Monocoque hand laying or infusion would be less costly.

Richard is very busy; so be kind.

I hear you, kind is my middle name.

I have a large bag of popcorn, watching your build.

I mentioned to the government that I found my next build......had some resistance.

Build on, as the Captain would say :D :D

The government still shakes her head when she sees the two Skoota hulls.
