I have a great picture that shows panels hot glued in place.
The panels are glued; the epoxy fillets and taping will follow immediately after the glue is cool.
The glue is still in the boat; forever.
I hot glue panels every two feet. It is only a tack or a spot. If the panels are undersized, I use a shim to hold them and shoot some compressed air to cool the nylon.
This saves a day or four hours on a panel install.
The hotglue becomes embedded in the fillets and tape. I would be surprised if any hotglue ever escapes even when I heat the boat for postcure.
The only downside is once in awhile the hotglue gets hit by sandpapers if you happen to cut away the panel(rare), or drip the glue.
These panels pictured will not move and only have four tack points each.

Re: Hot Glue
If leaving hot glue is no issue, it's perfect for setting cleat in place! Thanks a bunch. I thought it had to be removed.

Re: Hot Glue
All my cleats are glued in place with thickened epoxy.
I never use hotglue for cleats. But I am not certain what sort of cleat you are referring to...

Re: Hot Glue
All cleats are epoxied on , you just use a drop at each end to hold the cleat while the epoxy cures. You don't need 100 clamps
and you get more done. Pretty much the way you use it.

Re: Hot Glue
I used this method on my big boat when attaching cleats to the hull. There was no way to clamp, and I wasn't going to put screws through to the core. So a dab or two of hot glue to hold them while the remainder, held with epoxy, kicked.

Re: Hot Glue
Glad to help, had to ask on your thread.
I figure you could use the hg for your transverse frames as well. Stick em top and bottom and every 30" to take out the wiggle and fillet n tape. Buy plenty of nylon; it goes fast.
