The following questions came into our email over the weekend:
"Hello : I am interested in CV 16. For singlehanding I would prefer to build existing rig exactly as it is, but use it as CAT RIG ( i.e. with main sail only ). Is it possible ( ? any problems ? ). On some occasions the
boat would be used as a SLOOP ( with jib and with crew ). OR : Would be necessary to build the boat with 2 mast positions (i.e. for SLOOP as shown on plans and for CAT rig the mast would be relocated forward to another NEW position ? Thanks Regards" Second Question "Hello : Sorry, my QUESTION #2 : I have few sheets of 12 mm marine ply ( but don't have any 9 mm ply as per BOM ). Can I use 12 mm instead 9 mm ? I mean for hull ( especially bottom v-panels, perhaps hull sides ? ). Forward / aft transoms ? Would be possible to BEND 12 mm ply to curves ? I hope that pram type hull would ( here in luck ! ) allow this. ?? Thank you"

CV16 Questions for Jacques
Re: CV16 Questions for Jacques
The CV16 is a sloop. It is designed to sail with a main and a job.
You can sail her without raising the jib, with the main only.
No need to change the mast location.
12mm will be too thick to bend for the bottom and side panel.
Use it for the frames and seats.
