New Boat Builder Central Website

Post by Reid »

Hello Everyone,

As some of you may know, we have been working hard to update our website and that hard work has finally paid off! We will be launching our new website tomorrow (Wedneday, May 8 @ 12pm EST).

Currently we have 3 separate websites (boatbuildercentral.com, bateau.com, plywood.boatbuildercentral.com). With the launching of our new site (www.boatbuildercentral.com) we have combined all three sites into one! We have also given the entire site a new look, with a new shopping cart and new photos of our products and boats. We have also added a few new sections that you may find appealing: Featured Build, Featured Products, News & Events. These sections, which are found on the front page, will serve as a way to keep you informed on the latest products, highlight a recently finished build, and keep you up to date on any news and/or events.

If you have some time, please get back to me with any feedback on the new site. We want to make our new site as friendly as possible.

Thank you,
Reid

Almost 30 years ago you guys jumped on the BBS-WEB beginnings… 8)

Can't wait to see the new BBC site... :D

Good luck on the change over.

Do you have any screen shots of the BBS you had back in the 1990's?

My very first web page listing plans was on an Italian university server, can't remember which one. Before that, I "advertised" on the Usenet.
In 1993, I registered the name bateau.com with Internic and quickly added BoatBuilderCentral and a dozen others.
I can't remember where the first server was hosted but the web site was written for Mosaic the only browser of the time. Then came Netscape and finally, we were able to post some pictures.
We had our first forum around 1995.
I may have backups somewhere, I will look.
