PC24 dual engine pod design

Post by kitandara »

Hi,

We are building a PC24 to be powered by two 30HP engines. In lieu of placing engines on the transom as I'd suggested earlier, we were thinking of modifying the engine pod in the designs to take the two engines. Our idea would be to leave the depths as is (sheet B 301/9 in the plans) at 524mm, 403mm etc., but widen the area where the engines sit and the resulting V shape a little, so that 425mm becomes approx. 850mm and the 203mm becomes 406. We would also change the transom beam width from 102mm to 204mm. Do you see any problems with this? What are the alternatives?

Thanks

Paul
