You are going to need guttered hatches in the sole. The way I see them; they might be leakers unless wet lockers.

Guttered hatches in an internal sole? Why?fallguy1000 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 10:33 am You are going to need guttered hatches in the sole. The way I see them; they might be leakers unless wet lockers.
Currently building Jacques Mertens ST21 "Skinnydip". Boating adventures: Splash testing and using 'Skinnydip, as a basis of further building refinement; Adams 44’ sailing sloop "Great Sandy" (cruising and maintaining); Iain Oughtred Feather Pram "Mini Dip" (building); Jacques Mertens R13 "Wood Duck" (built and due for maintenance).

I would not put the beading type foams in the bilge my friend.
They take on ambient moisture and capture it and never release it.
Expanded polystyrene is really terrible in the bilge unless you bury it in better foams.
Love the pictures. Is that your Mom or Mom-in-Law?
Either way, good progress! Get rid of that recycled crap..or bury it in marine foam.

ps-you will find a bunch if indistry hype saying otherwise, but I have had to replace hot tub covers every ten years or so a few times now because the steam gets into the foam and it never dries
Reid did some experiments as well and the best way to make a dry bilge is epoxy encapsulation of foam..
