PG 20 Wiring Critique

Post by FluidDynamic »

I'm by far not an electrician. This is my attempt at wiring for my PG20. Please take a look and see if what I'm proposing is doable. Motor wiring harness's are not included. I'm having dealer install motor.

Looks complicated to me. My build has minimal electronics and it was complicated enough as it was. Good luck.

ACR should have direct ground to each bat. These should be paired coming off the charger for each charging circuit. I know your positives run to terminal block... make sure it is an actual isolation block not a buss. That would be an expensive mistake. :)

I'm also not sure about how you are wiring the sound. That should all go through the a RELAY that is triggered by a switch on the panel. If you have problems with power then you want to control ALL of it from that panel.

I changed the ACR grounds. The positives are seperate isolations blocks. I guess with the sound, are you saying you would have a switch for the amp and head unit?

Okay, take me with a grain of salt.

But y fuse on the ground side of the acr?

Okay. It looks right based on a review of a couple googles. Ain't sayin I understand fusing it.

In case there is a fault in the ACR that allows positive and negative to connect, the negative wire is quite small and needs a small fuse.

But you also need to fuse the connections from each battery positive to the ACR which is missing in FluidDynamics diagram. Those fuses are larger because it's much larger wire.

You also need a fuse between the battery switch and house loads, I'm guessing that's the square rectangle with 2 circles in it.

I thought the same thing about the fuse.

Thanks for ponting this out. I didnt see it. I'm trying to figure our what size fuse now.

The round circles are the built in fuses for each load. They are push button.

Should I also have a circuit breaker between the battery and the switches?

I just want to thank you FD for sticking your neck out.

I am a little confused about not running through the switches, but I didn't intend to run all my stuff through the switch panel as too many swotches then.

I have mine to do as well and am curious how you did the drawings so neatly.
