PK78 Doppie

Post by vla »

The boat building virus has got me again, I'm going to build another boat. A dinghy (PK78) for the Stoere meid (TW28). After 7 years I couldn't resist the temptation anymore.
Sawed the side panels, the bottom panels and the rafters today. Next week I'll buy epoxy and glass ete. Oh it's great to be busy again. Soon the smell of fresh epoxy resin, the itching of my hands after sanding, runny nose and red eyes, wonderful.
The photos will follow shortly.

I found this in a chop and could buy it for 50 Euro. That's cheap.
It had not run for several years. I cleaned the tank and carburator and it started! Wonderfull it suits my PK78.
It is a West bound Shrimp 3,5 hp. Build in the late fifties early sixties.

That is a great find! I bet it will work well on the skiff.

The rowing benches are almost ready. Then I can start filling and sanding.
I also sawed a few handles in the bow and transom.

The TW28 took me 3 years, this one will take less than 3 weeks. But it is also satisfying, every build is an adventure.
