Visio 2 electrical

Post by fallguy1000 »

I am doing the electrical diagrams with Visio 2. Been paying for it $16/month for a year, finally got access today.

Anyhow, I am making diagrams today since my back is really bothering me.

I will add a picture here in a bit, but plan to laminate the diagrams into a binder to keep onboard. Maybe another for in the office.

I'll see if I can find a better way to upload them. I am only using text boxes and dynamic connectors for it all. Maybe a fuse here n there.

I would consider actually labeling the wires with numbers or letters at each box, a wire color could change or some weird scenario where you end up changing the color of a wire in a pinch cuz its the only one you had and it got damaged. This is a great start on what I’m sure is a complicated wiring system.

For those working on the cheap, consider draw.io. Same capability just a bit free-er.

I second the use of numbers. Colors are helpful but time, great/dirt, light and colorblindness make mistakes a bit more likely. Using both together Would be ideal.

My labeling system is crap.

I can't imagine redoing it all, but perhaps. I'd need to go with a largerish heat sheink tube because the ends are all applied.

Does visio come with wiring templates or are you making all that up?
There are only two seasons in Vermont: boating season, and boat-building season.
