Crevice corrosion

Post by fallguy1000 »

Any ideas on how to deal with or mitigate creivce corrosion for these beams, now that I am heading to saltwater?

As you can see the sockets are open on one side.

The lids do not seal as designed. The beams are not painted, but perhaps I could take the boat apart next winter and chromate convert and paint them..

The lids need a coat of non-skid to match.

All opinions are welcome.

Other than drain holes and frequent flush, clean, repair, I know of nothing that works “long term”.
