What you are not done fairing that little thing yet
Re: DE 27.5
Two coats of primer on bottom, with one coat of bottom paint. On coat of primer on sides. Making progress.
Still need to touch up the primer close to the bottom paint.

Re: DE 27.5
Time to flip the boat. There are two coats of bottom paint on, and the sides have two coats of primer. I plan to put 2 or 3 coats of finish paint on the sides after I build out the top.
The plan is to flip it this weekend.

Nice work!
The flip is a major step. You will be amazed how much the boat grows after the flip.

Re: DE 27.5
Well, it did not go as planned, but the boat is flipped and there is no damage.

Flip might have not gone as planned but you got it done with no damage so it was a success.

Re: DE 27.5
As I have been applying fiberglass to the boat, I noticed I have been using more that resin that I should. I have been chalking it up to my inexperience, but it never seemed right. I have been using as much as 70% more than the tables I have looked at for the 12 oz cloth.
Today I finally got to the bottom (I think) of the issue. I cut out a 1 FT square piece of cloth I am using and weighed it, my 12 oz cloth (as purchased) weighs 15.75 oz/yd3. Going back through my spreadsheet to calculate resin usage, if I use 30% for wastage and 15.75 oz cloth, I come out with almost the exact amount I have used. The wastage is between 30 and 35%.
Looks like I am going to have a stronger boat than planned. I think I have added ~ 150 - 200 Lbs to the weight of the boat.
Have any of you guys seen this issue before ?
