Paddle Board Plans

Post by Cbuf »

I'm thinking of building a paddle board. Do you have paddle board foam plans laying around?

Thanks

Cbuf I thought they did many years ago but I can't find it now. They still sell the surf board/paddle board epoxy, see System 3 surf board epoxy.

That's what I was thinking, too. My recollection was along the lines of a CNC cut kit, there were a lot of pieces that had to fit precisely.

It's possible I'm thinking of the FS13, once referred to as a SUP: viewtopic.php?p=366898&hilit=paddle+board+kit#p366898

I think I found something of interest.

They sell the frame templates, it looks like a ton of shaping and sanding. Perfect relaxation, as I kind of like sanding once I get into it.

they decided after some testing that a paddleboard is more challenging than most people would be able to build. a few thousandths of an inch here and there and it won’t work right. They turned the paddleboard into the FS13, which can be paddled just like a paddleboard.

clcboats.com has a nice SUP kit. My understanding of these is that they need to be very precise or it doesn't work well. The only way to get the required accuracy is CNC cutting. So, kit only is the way to go.

I remember they tried a paddleboard, but they didn't foam it and had problems with the expansion. I think the best one would be an FS13 with the sides cut down at the sole.
