TAFT Fiberglass Canoe Rebuild

Post by GuyP »

A friend steered me to this free canoe in need of repair/refinish. Roughest area in pic near bow. A couple of lesser cracks elsewhere. Emblem is Taft of Annandale Minn. I’m thinking a good cleaning, sanding, crack and hole patching, fill exposed weave, EMC Quantum topcoat. Y’all think it’s worth it? I’ve had plenty of practice with my FS19 build.

Can’t find how to turn pics 90 degrees.

Bit tricky to fix, but totally doable. Cut away all damage as little as possible, then 3" taper grind it and see what it looks like. Picture and go from there..
