This question arrived via email overnight: "I am really interested in the GF 14 and GF 16 plans but I want to be able to walk bow to stern without crawling over a seat. Can these boats be built without the seat in the middle of the boat?" Jeff

No, sorry. You need something for stiffness.
You could build it like a Carolina Skiff: with a very thick bottom, 4" of foam with longitudinal stiffeners in it. It would make the cockpit too shallow and increase cost.
