Ahh ok. I’ve heard that before about that paint.Edd wrote: ↑Sun Jul 10, 2022 7:08 pm
No it’s total boat wet edge on the sk14. I’ll be using Alexseal on the lm18.
Re: Kiwi tinting
It’s just the deck the where the soft sand was broadcast. The sole has cured perfectly. I used tred Tex on the sole. It’s weird. The soft sand seems to swell a little, I guess it absorbs the paint. Maybe soft sand plus wet edge plus humidity doesn’t work. Anyway I flipped the sk14 and started freshening up the hull. I’ll scrape if off and use tred Tex when I finish the hull.Dan_Smullen wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 4:08 pmAhh ok. I’ve heard that before about that paint.
Looking forward to using the kiwi grip on the lm18

Lowes tinted my kiwi grip. I used it on two boats about 8 years ago and it still looks good.

Lowe's also tinted mine. Kiwi is excellent and easy to touch up.
Re: Kiwi tinting
Here’s the finished product on my sk14 refinish plus soft sand and tred Tex nonskid trial run. Ready to put a for sale sign on it. I recovered from the soft sand fail and overall it turned out alright with tred Tex and completely cured. It was tough keeping the sand from getting in the smooth areas. It definitely requires a lot of paint to seal or completely cover the sand. Due to the positive feed back and easy tinting I’ll give kiwi grip a try on the lm18.
