I’m refurbishing an old garden tractor mowing deck and wonder if it would be worth doing the underside with graphite for protection. Thoughts?
I’m sure cost will be a comment, but not too concerned about that: a) given the area to cover and b) given that it will let me work with the material a little before I put it on my hull.
More concerned with adhesion and durability. I have to think if adhesion will be good, it’s bound to be more durable than most any paint.
- and speaking of paint, if the group thinks epoxy is a loser, I guess I’ll probably do it with a two part paint(unless the group says that’s a dog too ) also for reason b above.
Thanks.

Best paint I've ever used for steel is POR15, moisture cured polyurethane. It's UV sensitive, but if anything even more durable than epoxy. I used it to paint my trailer axle, then went over with a Zinc spray for appearance.
